Azure Blaze

character
Wear it your way
Wide-leg trousers. In case you’re required to behave like an adult.
A short skirt. Summer needn’t be complicated.
Shorts. Let the weather decide the rest.
Back-to-front. You’re allowed to change your mind before breakfast.
The Story
At some point, a surprising amount of public opinion gathers around a woman’s waist. Until what age it may be shown, after which life event it ought to be covered, and exactly how serious a woman is expected to become above the waistband. As though experience comes with an extra metre of fabric and a polite request to stop misbehaving.
You are old enough to know that most rules of this kind were invented by people who simply wanted someone to boss around.
Azure Blaze arrives at the brightest hour of the day, when shadows grow short and excuses become ridiculous. The blue is turned up almost indecently high. Black attempts to keep a straight face, red interrupts without being invited, and white pretends it merely happened to be there. The result is a summer that was raised properly but escaped supervision.
The top falls loosely, gives the body room to breathe and bares the waist without the slightest embarrassment. The asymmetric hem has no intention of straightening itself out. The ruffle is behaving frivolously too—apparently, it’s on holiday.
Wear it back-to-front and the colors change places while the cropped line moves to the other side. No grand transformation of the self. You simply wanted things differently today, and that is quite enough.
